Byron P. Steel High School
Yearbook Cover
This retro (as in late 80’s inspired) cover was designed on the fly during the cover session with the yearbook instructor. We had an idea from the students. The theme title and the latter part of a decades’ worth of inspiration. So that’s what we ran with.

This one was a joy to work on. The school was already a little behind schedule and the lack of a cover was definitely giving the teacher some heartburn. And not knowing what to do or what to expect from the session process added to the stress. Fortunately the chemistry with the teacher over Zoom was spot on and we fed off of each other’s enthusiasm. We ended up with two general directions for the class to choose from. The final cover above was tweaked with some transparency and shading to add a little modern flair.
